I run Caltweet. com and our auto “Tweet” function that automatically post events to Users status every 6hrs four times a day is giving me some problems. When our server goes out or we have an extended problem with the site. When it comes back up it sends out ALL the events in our system to users profiles…nonetheless flooding! Twitter with Event tweets and we lose users. Only happen two times, but everytime it does it sets us back.
So basically i need somebody to come look at some existing code and manipulate it so that this doesn’t happen whenever the site goes down and comes back up. It works by setting a time that a users/event was last sent out records that time and sends out 6hrs from then. read more
